Margot’s passion for real estate started in her hometown of Boston, MA, when she jumped into a whirlwind career with the top-producing broker at a leading firm in Cambridge. Eight years there gave her the ability to negotiate aggressively, listen carefully, and always remain calm and ethical, especially under pressure. High-profile clients and the competitive early 2000s market kept Margot busy — each year, she closed more than 35 sides and influenced $100M+ in sales.

 

“What I love about my job,” Margot says, “is that I am helping people find the canvas on which they will write their stories.” Anyone can help you buy or sell a house, let you overpay in a bidding war, or get carried away while prices climb and the frenzy continues, but Margot alleviates the stress, anxiety, and pressure that often goes along with the process. She doesn’t just help people win deals — she has clients for life.

 

Margot is patient with her buyers, often talking them out of properties that other brokers might talk them into. She is known for her motto, “I’m not worried about getting you into this property; if there’s a competitive bid situation, we will win. I’m always most concerned about how we’ll get you out, should you choose to sell down the road.” This caution keeps her buyers from overpaying when the stakes are high, and it has earned her the reputation of being loyal, honest, and straightforward.

 

With sellers, Margot’s strategic choice to hang her license at Bay Real Estate Group has allowed her to push the envelope and follow her creative instincts. When buyers have all the information they could ever want at their fingertips, it’s crucial to market each listing independently and come up with a campaign that’s customized to the area, buyer demographics, and local community. Margot’s degree in advertising, public relations, and strategic crisis management (Margot earned her B.A. from Boston College in 2005) makes her uniquely positioned to assess each property. Her history in tech, startups, and venture capital, plus her social standing in the Pacific Heights and Downtown scenes, gives her access to empty-nesters, young IPO buyers, and everyone in between.

 

Margot now lives in Ross with her husband, a Marin native, and their two children. In her free time, Margot loves tending to her rose garden, running, Pilates, riding horses, being involved in charitable organizations in SF and Marin, and maintaining her friendships on both coasts. She maintains her Massachusetts license and has specialized in helping many East Coast clients and referrals move to San Francisco and the Bay Area.
